Discover one of the most beautiful streets in the world, the Carrera del Darro and el Paseo de los Tristes, “the stroll of the sadness”, the most romantic place in the town. Both are located in the Albaycín neigbourhood, which was declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
The Carrera del Darro was known as Axares, that means health neigbourhood, the favourite part of the city of the Christians after the conquest and also the most transformed.
In Granada, the 16th Century represented a very convulsive era that brought together a large number of transcendental events for its history. Granada became a symbol of the new Christianity, a courtly city, where a great concentration of religious orders were represente. The process ended with the establishment of the Inquisition in Granada and the expulsion of the Moorish. Discover the vestiges that history has left behind.
